Wooden Montessori Play Equipment for Every Age

We make one kind of thing: solid wood play equipment and furniture, sized for children and designed so they can use it without being lifted, helped or asked to wait. It starts with a baby play gym and runs through to a wall gym a ten year old still hangs from.

Everything is FSC-certified pine with non-toxic, BPA-free finishes, tested to ASTM and CPSIA standards. Free shipping across the continental US, 30 day returns and a five year warranty on every product.

Where to Start by Age

Babies, 0 to 12 months. A wooden play gym for tummy time, a rocker or bouncer that responds to a baby's own movement, and a foldable play yard with mirror or sensory panels once they start rolling.

Toddlers, 1 to 3 years. A Pikler triangle as a first climber, a toddler tower for the kitchen counter, an indoor swing with its own stand, and a table and chair set at their height.

Little kids, 4 to 7 years. Full indoor jungle gyms, Swedish ladders with monkey bars, outdoor swing sets with climbing walls, and desks for the years when drawing becomes the main event.

Big kids, 8 and up. Wall gyms with rings and pull up bars, and the larger outdoor frames with trapeze bars.

Indoor or Outdoor?

Indoor equipment gets used far more, simply because it is available on a wet Tuesday in February. Most of ours folds flat or mounts to a wall, so it fits a playroom, a living room corner or an apartment.

Outdoor equipment is bigger, weather finished and better for several children at once. If you are choosing between them and space is tight, a wall mounted Swedish ladder needs as little as three feet of floor depth and takes attachments for years.

Why Wood

Wood does not rust like metal or fade and grow brittle like plastic. It feels solid underfoot, which matters when a child is deciding whether to let go of the rail. And it looks like furniture rather than playground equipment, which is most of why it stays in a living room rather than being moved to the garage.
