Accessories for Indoor Climbers

The cheapest way to make a climbing frame interesting again is not to replace it. A monkey bar attachment, a tent cover or a swing changes how a child uses the same structure, usually for a fraction of the price of a new one.

Everything here is sold separately from the climber itself. Each product page lists the frames it fits, and the compatibility notes below cover the most common questions.

Monkey Bars and Wall Panels

Monkey bars come in four versions: 79 inch standard, 95 inch standard, 79 inch modular and 95 inch modular. They are not interchangeable, so match the height and type of your ladder before ordering. If you are unsure which you own, the height and whether it has side panels will tell you.

Modular frames also take rock wall panels, rope wall panels, ring panels and extra ladder panels, which bolt alongside the existing ladder to extend the wall gym sideways.

Mats

A padded mat is the single cheapest safety improvement you can make on a hard floor, and it makes a nervous first climber braver. Ours are shaped to match specific frames rather than sold as generic rectangles, so there is one for Walnut, Walnut Modular, Betula, Neem, Magnolia, Chestnut, Grove, Spruce, Alpine and the play yards.

Tent Covers

A canvas cover turns a climbing frame into a playhouse, a den or a fort, which is a different kind of play entirely and often the one that takes over for a few months. Covers come off in minutes and store in a cupboard when the climbing resumes. Each cover is cut for a particular frame and size, so check whether yours is the large or medium version.

Swings and Slides

Sensory swings hang from our large climbers and from wall mounted ladders, giving spin and sway rather than a straight arc, which many children find calming. Baby swing seats with harnesses fit indoor swing frames and swap for open seats as a child gains balance.

Roller slides attach to most of our larger frames. Wooden rollers give a faster descent; foam rollers are padded and slower, which suits younger or more cautious children.

• Check size variants: Several frames come in two sizes, and mats and tent covers are cut for one or the other.

• Clearance: Monkey bars and swings need more open space in front than a plain ladder does.
